Ok, so i gave birth to my son three and a half years ago and seemed to loose the baby weight within a few months. Well that was then and this is now! When my little Carrera was 18 months old, I was still trying to get back into my old clothes. I have to say, I’m ashamed to say, this really got to me and got me down a little bit.

Let me give you a little bit of history about me. I’ve always been either a size 10 or 12 (mainly a 12) on my bottom and a size 10 on my top. Being pregnant i was so happy, I could eat what I wanted, when i wanted (within reason). I never worried about overhang and the saddle bags on my thighs seemed to be pulled up into my growing stomach so – happy me 🙂 but then I turned 30 and after giving birth I didn’t seem to drop that weight as easily as I did the first time round. So here is a list of what I’ve tried:

  • Slimming World

Granted Slimming World was a great diet but as I only had about a stone to loose I felt I had to restrict myself too much to get to my goal weight and it would definitely take too long for me.

  • 5:2 Diet

The 5:2 diet is a fasting diet, which means that on certain days you restrict yourself to either 500 or 600 calories, depending on your BMI and how much weight you want to loose.

So for 2 days a week I ate 500 calories and then on the other days I tried to eat healthy and not eat much cadburys, lol.

I liked this one. I did’t loose enough weight though. I gave it just over a month, but only shifted about 3 pounds.

As I refused to buy new clothes in a bigger size – I have too many clothes that I love to start my wardrobe again – so back to the drawing board.

  • Lean in 15

Lean in 15 is designed by The Body Coach, Joe Wicks. He encourages us to get rid of the “sad step” (the scales) workout hard and eat healthy fats and re-fuelling carbs.

His basic principles are, that you eat 3 low carb meals a day and 2 healthy snacks. After a workout you have a protein shake to help repair your muscles and carb re-fuel meal after a workout.

I have to say the meals are soooooooo yummy and I am NEVER unhappy on this diet! I actually struggle to eat everything that I’m allowed to eat. Tim has commented on how much more energy I seem to have.

The other amazing thing about this diet is that you can eat things that normally or completely forbidden. Like scrumptious creamy advocado, nuts & bagels filled with met, cottage cheese, tomatoes and fried egg. mmmmmmmm

Joe Wicks has released a free ebook, with a selection of recipes. His full Lean in 15 book is out in January.

Some of my favourites are the chicken and bacon cob salad, cajun turkey mince & big fat smoothie.

WORKOUTS

The workouts are addictive!!!!!!!

He champions HIIT workout (High Intensity Interval Training) you burn maximum fat in least amount of time.

You do a HIIT move, full pelt, for 30 seconds and then rest for 30 seconds. There are so many HIIT workout moves so you can swop and change to keep it interesting and throw some weights in too for extra toning power.
