I had the absolute privilege of enjoying a gorgeous meal out with some of my girls at the lovely Mattoni, Peterborough.
Not only is the food scrummy, the atmosphere & ambience amazing, but the staff are so welcoming and chatty, you just feel at ease and comfortable. I visit often with my husband and kids for lunch and with friends, as its within walking distance from my house, but on this occasion I was planning a meal out for a group of friends.
Planning a meal out for a large number of people can either be really stressful or enjoyable and a lot of that depends on the venue you choose. So if you’re looking for somewhere to have a meal out for any number of people, I can 100% recommend Mattoni in Hampton, Peterborough.
There was quite a large group of us, 13. In the lead up the the meal, nothing was too much for them, to help it go smoothly.
It was required that we pay a small deposit of £5 per person 10 days before, completely acceptable, given that if a large group like that cancelled, they would likely loose quite a lot of business.
They also asked, if it was at all possible, if we could put our order in beforehand, so they could ensure the food came to our table quickly and efficiently. This worked brilliant.
I simply emailed a list of all the starters, mains and deserts we wanted, not only did it save time ordering our food, it meant that the kitchen was organised and prepared.
Once we were all settled with our refreshing cocktails, wines and mocktails, they brought us our starters. One word, YUMMY! A perfect start!
We all enjoyed our entire meal. Everything was clearly cooked fresh and to a very high standard. Some of the dishes we enjoyed were polpette, which is meatballs covered in a tomato sauce, seasoned with all authentic Italian seasoning. DELICIOUS!! A lot of us enjoyed a pizza. My very fussy italian friend, which being Italian you of course would be fussy about the quality of pizza you eat, vouches for the pizza’s served at Mattoni. Cooked to perfection.
We then finished off our meal with beautiful desserts or a Bailey’s coffees, cappuccino or a simple cup of tea.
The whole meal went so smoothly. The manager, Goretti, regularly checked on us to make sure everything was ok and that we were enjoying the food.
It was easy as pie, and meant that we could just sit back and enjoy our time together, which is always a laugh with the girls.
Thank you Goretti 🙂
Whether you live locally or not I would recommend a visit to Mattoni’s. You can click here and have a look at their websites and menu’s.
