I don’t know about you but I can not believe it is the end of the school year already! This is a big year for me as my ‘baby’ will be leaving his amazing preschool and will be starting his ‘big school’ in September. I have very mixed emotions about this. I am excited for him to be starting his new school, it promises to provide the nurturing, encouraging and educational environment he so needs. On the other hand he will no longer be under the care of the amazing teaching team at the Preschool. I was determined to give his teachers thank you gifts, that would show them our appreciation.
When he started at his preschool, he was shy and didn’t feel comfortable partaking in large groups activities. They helped him grow into a confident little boy that enjoys singing, dancing and making new friends. They have truly set him up for his next chapter. So I wanted to give a gift that symbolised this.
There are loads of teacher thank you gifts on the market, from mugs to notepads, aprons to plaques. These are great but I wanted to create a meaningful gift that they would like to keep, so I went to trusty google and came across shanty 2 chic.
I didn’t have the time, materials or ability to make it from scratch, but was so inspired. So I went for a shopping trip to The Range and these are the gifts I put together.
These blackboard heart shapes were a bargain at only £1 for 3. I used a liquid chalk pen to write my message.
I loved the added detail in these flower clips. Just £1.29 for 8.
This is a perfect teacher present. I removed the lids from 3 jars (£1.49 each) and transferred 3 small plants (£2.99 for 12) into them and simply placed them into the bucket (£3.99). I then used string wrapped around the rim to secure the heart and added my flower peg. All in all this comes to around £9.17. A gorgeous meaningful present without breaking the bank.
These little flower jars are perfect for teaching assistant gifts. The lavender is artificial. You can sprinkle a little lavender oil on top of them to leave them smelling beautiful. To create cohesion with the teachers thank you gifts, I also used wrapped string around the rim of the jar to secure my heart message and added a flower peg. The total price of one of these jars is around just £2.46.
What are you giving your teachers this year to say thank you, please comment below 🙂
